'Metal Inclusions' Half Day Workshop (3 hours)

Designed for complete beginners!

Discover the magic of mixing metal inclusions with glass and how they react together after being fired in the kiln...You will make a selection of samplers with a variety of metal sheets, foils and wires which you can turn into a piece of wall art, then make either four coasters or a square platter using the metal inclusions and designs of your choice.  This half day workshop involves cutting glass but if you don't feel comfortable with doing so, ready cut glass blanks will be provided. Enjoy!

    Conditions :

    No experience is necessary, no arty skills required.  Our workshops are open to anyone from 16 years old.  Younger participants from the age of 12 are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult. 

    All materials, tools and protective gear are provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes (no high heels, open toe sandals or flip flops).

    Workshops are currently limited to 6 people. However, we can accommodate larger group of up to 12 by arrangement with Claudia. Your creations will be fired overnight and ready for collection by the following week at the latest (to be arranged with Claudia).  If you are unable to collect, we can arrange for them to be shipped at an additional cost.  

    Full payment is required to secure booking. A refund of 90% will be offered for cancellations up to 4 weeks before the course. After that date, a 50% refund will be given up to 1 week before the course. A full refund may be given at our discretion only in case of exceptional circumstances. Full refund will be given if for any reason we needed to cancel the workshop.

    Accessibility and Special Requirements :

    Refreshments and biscuits are included. If you have any allergies or special requirements please ensure you confirm this to us when booking your place.

    Cutting and assembling glass require some dexterity as you will need to apply a little bit of pressure on the glass whilst using the appropriate tools.  Please bear this in mind if you suffer from arthritis or a previous hand/arm injury.  If in doubt, please contact Claudia at hello@glassbyclaudia.com.

    PLEASE NOTE : We offer toilet facilities.  However, the studio is part of a converted farm building and unfortunately, access to the toilet within our studio is via a set of 5 steps and therefore unsuitable for wheelchair access.  We are very sorry about this and thank you for your understanding.
